The foundation CPD module course provides a good introduction to Preoperative Assessment for Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) who are new to this exciting speciality. In addition,  the course can be utilised to provide a foundation training for Assistant Practitioners/Associate Nurses who are working under the supervision of a competent Registered Practitioner.

Our course can also serve as an update for more experienced staff. Learners can choose to complete the Advanced Preoperative Assessment skills course on completion.

Our virtual blended CPD modules consist of 2 days of virtual teaching days via our Zoom pro platform, 3 months access to our online resources to consolidate knowledge, followed by assessment of competencies in practice.

For NMC Revalidation the module is equivalent to a minimum of 21 hours CPD (14 virtual, 7 online) plus hours to complete competencies in practice.
